Boris Johnson vows Brexit deal is ‘oven ready’ and he’ll get Britain out by January as he launches election campaign
BORIS Johnson today vowed his Brexit deal is “oven ready” and just needs to be heated up in the microwave as he promised to get us out by January.
The PM kicked off his campaign in earnest today with a visit to a hospital in Cambridge on the day he had promised we were going to leave the EU.
And he stressed that the current crop of MPs were never going to vote his deal through – meaning it was inevitable Britain had to go to the polls.
He said in a clip this lunchtime: “After 3 and a half years, it was perfectly obvious to me this Parliament is just not going to vote Brexit through, there are too many people opposed to Brexit who want to frustrate it.
“The only thing we can really do now is go to the people, go to the country, lets get this thing done.
“We have an oven ready deal, let’s put it in the microwave, as soon as we get back after the election on 12 December.”
The PM vowed to pump more money into Britain’s incredible National Health Service, which he could only do by encouraging wealth creation across the country.
And he promised if he’s elected again then he will push Brexit through by January.
“We can be out by the absolute latest by January next year,” he said.
“It was the mandate of the British people.
“Parliament has simply stood in their way.”
On the first day of the election campaign:
- Boris stuck to his familiar battlegrounds with visits to schools and hospitals
- Jeremy Corbyn launched his campaign with a speech in Battersea where he claimed he could get Brexit sorted in just six months
- But the leftie boss was awkwardly snapped giving Emily Thornberry a kiss on the hand

It comes just the day after swathes of senior MPs announced they were going to stand down and would not run again.
Many of them blamed the abuse they were getting too.
But senior Tories said they were in effect the Brexit Party now, and it would put them in great stead to hoover up votes from Nigel Farage.
Downing Street said last night that all candidates would be expected to support getting Brexit done “immediately” after the election.
The Brexit Party are currently on 13 per cent in the polls and could take a large chunk out of the Tory vote.
One poll of Leavers said half of them felt “betrayed” after Boris failed to get us out today as he promised.
