Sir Jeffrey Donaldson's DUP resignation marks the end of a 40-year political career - from walking out of Northern Irish Good Friday peace negotiations to 'receiving threats during post-Brexit trade talks'
The DUP said yesterday that Mr Donaldson had been charged with 'allegations of a historical nature' and that he would be stepping down as leader.
